Our team

Who are we?

Darren grew up in a small town in northern Indiana. He recently married the love of his life, Becky and moved to Mishawaka, Indiana. In his childhood he struggled with identity. Writing was something of a hobby in his younger years. It would eventually grow into a very relaxing way for him to get out of his head for a short while. Having been raised by parents who are Christ followers and regular church attenders, he came to faith as well when he was eight years old. During his entire childhood and up into his teenage years he was home-schooled. His graduating class was as large as his footprints, but that was okay with him. Since graduating from high school he spent eight years in college at three different universities. Having this vast amount of time in the collegiate realm has given him unique perspectives on the world around us.

Nathan was raised near Wauseon, Ohio where he currently resides. He has a half Poodle/half Border Collie named Scottie. He graduated from Bethel University in 2013 with degrees in Sociology and Intercultural Studies. He has spent over 10 years devoted to youth ministry and social work. His passion is to equip the church to engage and transform the culture and the people within through the power of Christ and the abilities he has given us.

What do we do in our free time?

You will scarcely find Darren waiting around for some big opportunity to come to me. So he tends to seek out adventures. Adventures are what make life interesting. They give our lives a new definition and give us new stories to tell. The greatest part about seeking out adventures is the unexpected nature of where you might end up. Darren’s hobbies of growing bonsai trees and learning how to become financially independent occupy a good chunk of his time as well. A few things that Darren’s hobbies focus around is patience and learning because he always wants to be improving.

Nathan spends most of his time working, playing with his dog Scottie, and hanging out with friends. His family is very important to him and plays a big role in his life even today. Biblical studies is something he enjoys doing to help not only himself better understand, but also to teach others.

What is the purpose of this blog?

First and foremost, this blog is intended to bring glory to God. There will never be an agenda or cause that we will be greater than spreading the good news. God gave us a gift for writing about faith, facts and fiction, so we are going to use His gift to us to be a mirror and reflect His glory. We want our readers to take a few minutes out of their day to just soak up the Gospel in a meaningful and educational manner.

What brought us here?

Some things just cannot be discussed in a healthy fashion on social media. This realm of open thought allows us to express what we feel we should share. Some of the things we discuss may be hard to swallow, but it is our goal to break these ideas into smaller pieces for better understanding. We want our writing to refresh your soul and help you see life as the amazingly beautiful thing that it is. Every day should be the best day of your life. Every day should be another day in which you can go on an adventure, say yes to hanging out with an old friend, see a baby smile, hear of something that brings you tears of joy to your eyes and most of all, you should never live another day with regret. Do not simply be someone who hears of great things, be the doer of great things. We hope you enjoy reading our content!
